‘Kings College Climate Emergency’ is a new direct action campaign group planning to force rapid divestment from fossil fuels at King’s College, London.

The campaign began on 19th January 2017 with a challenging action, the spray-painting of concrete columns at the front of King’s College.

Campaigners are promising a rapid escalation of actions to push through their agenda as the university has been slow to respond to previous campaigns and has only offered a patial and long-term divestment so far.

Protesters claim the situation is too urgent to wait longer, and with the overwhelming scientific evidence pointing towards catastrophic climate change, they demand the university, as a flagship educational institute, gives its financial and ethical backing to that science by divesting now.
