Internal Shell documents show that Shell had a very full grasp of the implications of fossil fuel burning on the environment. As far back as 30 years ago, Shell’s own scientists were issuing dire warnings of global warming, mass climate refugee migration, flooding of areas such as Bangladesh, and rising ocean levels. Despite all this, the corporation has followed the tobacco company playbook and put business interests first.
