For many years Alex worked as a zoologist, working in some of the world’s most pristine environments.
In his lifetime he has seen nature being destroyed all around him, the nature that mankind relies on in a complex relationship in order to survive.
So now, with our economic and democratic systems failing to address the issues which scientists warn are leading us ever faster to extinction, Alex has turned to activism and risks his liberty.
But he reminds us that in our complex biosphere – a chaotic system – small perturbations can lead to massive changes. Far from being helpless, he reminds us “We are the butterfly wings – FLAP!”
