On 21st November 2017, as Princess Anne (Chancellor of University of London) paid a visit, hundreds of students, striking workers, and trades unionists, held a noisy protest outside in support of the Independent Workers Union of Great Britain.

On the same day, the IWGB launched a landmark legal case hoping to bring collective bargaining rights to outsourced workers at the university who are fed up with being passed from one contractor to another. They want the university to be deemed a ‘Joint Employer’ in law – if they win, the case will set an historic precedent that could aid zero-hours and precarious workers all around the country.
