From the ‘Conference at the Gates’ organised by ‘Stop The Arms Fair’, this is an edited peek at a workshop on art and militarism. It was held in a gazebo that provided some shelter from the rain during protests against the 2017 Defence and Security Equipment Insternational (DSEI) arms fair taking place at the Excel Centre in east London.
Introduced by Dr. Rhys Crilley, and surrounded by representative artworks, Lewis Bush, Darren Cullen, Peter Kennard and Cat Phillipps spoke about their anti-militarist work and discussed the power of art with an appreciative audience.
