Dr Tom Fisher is a research officer at Privacy International, an organisation committed to investigating and challenging government and corporate surveillance and campaigning for the right to privacy.

He talks to Real Media about the ways in which we unwittingly give up far more of our privacy than we imagine, and about the imbalance of power when we don’t know how how data is being analysed, stored, and used.

With very little regulation, and an expanding ‘Internet of Things’, and as they launch a legal challenge on the UK government over its own surveillance plans, the work of ‘Privacy International’ is more valuable than ever.
