Tidemill Gardens, a community wildlife resource in the heart of Deptford, has been under occupation by locals for 8 weeks, while they tried to fight council plans to cut down 74 mature trees and hand over the land to developers.

This morning at dawn, despite ongoing legal challenges, 120 bailiffs arrived with police escort and forcibly seized the land, injuring one local resident, and according to witnesses, endangering others who had climbed some of the trees.
