On 12th November, Extinction Rebellion organised a day of action at the Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy. The main doors and staff entrance were blockaded by activists who glued themsleves to the glass and locked on outside. Victoria Street was also occupied and shut down for several hours. In the lobby of the staff entrance, some members of Christian Climate Action locked on, and windows were sprayed with the extinction logo.
Reggie, who will be 85 this week, explained why he was taking part in the action, just before he was arrested and taken to Charing Cross police station.
In all, there were 22 arrests that day. More actions are planned this week, leading up to a mass day of civil disobedience beginning at 10am on Saturday in Parliament Square, which is expected to attract thousands of supporters.
