“We cause a disturbance because no-one’s been listening”.

A short film of conversation between a young climate crisis protester and a police sergeant acting as a Liaison Officer in Parliament Square during the #SchoolStrike protest.

The young protester explains why she believes sitting in the middle of the road and causing disruption is legitimate in the face of the global climate crisis.

Police carried out arrests at the #SchoolStrike protest on the 24th May, including a 13 year old female arrested on suspicion of obstructing the highway.

Deputy Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor has recently announced that more than a thousand people arrested during April’s Extinction Rebellion protests should all face prosecution, and Commissioner Cressida Dick has suggested tougher laws are needed to deter such protests.
