Two grassroots movements came together to organise a loud protest with pots and pans outside the Foreign Office yesterday while Keir Starmer and Donald Trump met in Scotland.

Na’amod is a Jewish-led movement in the UK seeking to end their community’s support for apartheid and the occupation. Mi-neged is made up of UK-based Israelis working to end the genocide and apartheid with an immediate and lasting ceasefire and hostage deal.

As civil servants and politicians left the Foreign and Commonwealth Department yesterday early evening, they would have heard pots and pans and loud chants from the hundreds attending the demonstration. The protest attracted support from other Jewish movements such as the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network, Jewish Voice For Labour, and Jews Against Genocide.

Mi-neged has sent an open letter to Keir Starmer and David Lammy signed by more than 200 UK-based Israelis. A second letter was also sent by Na’amod to David Lammy, with five key actionable demands (read out by their spokesperson in our film).

The evidence of ethnic cleansing and genocide is growing almost daily. Two reports calling out Israel’s war as a genocide were published recently by Israeli human rights organisations B’tzTselem and Physicians for Human Rights.

Among the speeches was this reading of a message from ‘Tariq’ who is struggling to find food for his family because of the man-made famine in Ghazzah.

“Enough. Please, for the sake of God, I just want someone to hear my words”.
