‘Talk Fracking’ founder, Joe Corré, talks about challenging a wide-ranging legal injunction brought by the huge chemical company, Ineos, in order to prevent protest and comment on their fracking activities across England.

The injunction was granted in a secret court hearing, and posted at potential fracking sites before planning permission had even been sought. Among its stipulations, it seeks to prevent social media comment against the company, employees and contractors.

Notices posted during the summer alerted Joe Corré and he became a ‘named defendant’ in order to challenge the draconian terms of the injunction.

In a 3-day hearing last month, he managed to have the so-called ‘harassment’ sections removed, and now is planning an appeal against the remaining temporary injunction which still stifles protest against this highly controversial industry.
