Two longer excerpts from the London rally last week, when The Surge launched in cities all over the world. It’s a grassroots initiative hoping to build bridges between protest movements and struggles in co-ordinated global resistance to occupation, extractivism, repression and fascism.

First, a speech by Sara Calloway from Global Women’s Strike: “Let us stay together, across every sector, across every background, from climate justice to migration justice, to anti-racism to Black Lives Matter. All of us together, together we can win.”

And an amazing interview with Mirza from Kashmir, who very neatly outlined the connections between occupation, development and climate change: “Despite being occupied for 75 years now, we feel that whatever we can do to support the Palestinians, we are there for them.
