On Monday 3rd July 2017, Haringey Council agreed a £2 billion sell-off of public assets to the notorious private developers, Lendlease, despite overwhelming opposition from local people.

More than a thousand protesters gathered over the evening and marched up Wood Green Hight Street to the Civic Centre, where they banged on windows and doors and drummed pots and pans outside the meeting.

Spoken word artist ‘Potent Whisper’ performed at a fund-raising benefit later that evening, as local residents prepare to launch a judicial review of the council’s decision, and begin a campaign of councillor deselection in the up-coming elections.
