On Saturday 9th September as part of daily protests and blockades, protesters held a “Festival of Resistance” at the London Excel centre.
Excel is hosting the DSEI international arms fair from the 12th September, and as the organisers try to set up the huge exhibition, campaigners peacefully protest, disrupt and blockade the centre in an attempt to shut it down.
Each day there are themed events. This film gives a taste of the committed resistance to the arms traders as hundreds of protesters including a ‘critical mass’ bicycle blockade come together at both entrance gates to the arena.
During the afternoon, lock ons and endless sit-downs brought deliveries to a halt for hours. There are rumours that as a result of the daily protests, this year’s DSEI is well behind schedule.
