More stories have emerged this week from Deliveroo workers alleging unfair treatment at the hands of the multi-million pound multinational, notorious for its rock bottom wages and scant regard for workers’ rights.

Working in conjunction with radical activist group Plan C, Deliveroo workers have been producing a workers’ bulletin, Rebel Roo, to help employees organise and protect themselves from their bosses. A group of Deliveroo workers in Leeds have recently unionised, and have been using Whatsapp groups to discuss conditions, pay, and possible actions with the broader community of workers.

The company response has been typically hostile, with a number of key organisers having their shifts slashed to force them out of employment.

Plan C Leeds have organised a leafleting event this Friday, the 17th of February, at 5:30 pm in City Square. All are welcome to join them in distributing copies of the latest edition of Rebel Roo to Deliveroo workers, restaurant owners, and members of the public.

With discontent amongst workers continuing abreast with greater degrees of organisation and an ever greater catalogue of past successes, further industrial action seems highly likely.
